The Colora peach variety is characterized by firm flesh with red veins, skin red to the stone, and a clingstone type, in which the stone does not separate from the flesh. Historically, the variety was used mainly for making sweet marinades.
The modern Colora plum variety was obtained by crossing the Ortenauer and R. Gerstetter varieties. It possesses high resistance to the sharka virus and fungal diseases, and is distinguished by juicy flesh and a sweet-and-sour taste.
