Red Haven
ActivePrunus persica (L.) Batsch · Peach
Stat Exp South Haven (US)
10 August 2026
The tree is characterized by strong vigor and has a spreading crown shape. The variety has moderate chilling requirements and demonstrates good adaptability to hot and dry climatic conditions.
The fruits are round-oval in shape with an average weight of about 140 g and have yellow skin with a red blush. The flesh is golden-yellow, firm, fine-grained, and non-melting. The pit adheres firmly to the flesh, which determines the primary use of the variety — industrial canning.
The fruits have good keeping quality, maintaining freshness for up to 2 weeks at a temperature of -0.5°C; however, they are prone to developing the 'wooliness' defect during storage. The harvest matures in the second week of February in the Southern Hemisphere.
