The Melissa tree is vigorous, has a semi-open canopy, and bears fruit on all types of wood. Flowering is early, which requires considering the risk of spring frosts. The variety is characterized by high and stable yield, enters into production quickly, and is self-fertile.

The fruits are large, round in shape, with an average weight of 268–282 g, and have dark red skin. The flesh is white, firm, very juicy, with high sugar content and low acidity. The fruits are resistant to cracking and have good transportability.

The variety is intended for fresh consumption. There is information regarding resistance to the Plum pox virus (sharka). In documentation, the variety also appears under the breeding code HA693-1.
