Fruits of the variety Duero (PRO 796) are characterized by yellow flesh. Studies show that the use of deficit irrigation strategies and pre-harvest treatment with chitosan contributes to improving fruit firmness and keeping quality during storage.
In experimental plantings, the trees were grafted onto the INRA GF-677 rootstock, which provides resistance to iron chlorosis and good productivity on soils with high lime content. The trials used a planting scheme of 5 × 3 m.
