The subject is a vegetatively propagated low-vigor rootstock. It provides trees with lower growth vigor compared to the St. Julien A rootstock, which allows for increased planting density in intensive orchards. In addition to plum, the rootstock has been tested for use with peach, nectarine, and apricot.
Trees grafted onto this rootstock enter fruit-bearing early and demonstrate high, stable yields, while the rootstock contributes to obtaining high-quality fruit. The clone is distinguished by cold hardiness and good resistance to bacterial canker Pseudomonas syringae, however, due to its dwarfing nature, it may require support structures.
