The variety is a vigorous shrub reaching 2–3 meters in height and width at maturity. The foliage has a golden-yellow color, most vibrant in spring and early summer; by autumn, reddish tones may appear on the leaves.
Flowering occurs in May–June with creamy-white flowers gathered in dense inflorescences. The glossy fruits change color from golden-orange to red as they ripen. Fruiting and flowering occur later than in most other Pyracantha varieties.
The plant is winter hardy in zones 6–9 and undemanding regarding soil composition and pH levels. It is used for creating hedges, as a specimen plant, for planting in borders, or for training on walls. Due to the presence of thorny branches, it serves as a protective barrier.
