The Elettra clone was used in scientific experiments to study propagation protocols via axillary bud stimulation and somatic embryogenesis. Scientific publications record that prolonged subculturing of this material leads to morphological anomalies, including changes in leaf shape, habit, and delayed flowering.

During the studies, it was noted that when using micropropagation methods, it is possible to obtain 2–4 root tubers from a single plant after the acclimatization cycle. Data on characteristics inherent to industrial varieties, such as maturity group or lodging resistance, are absent.
