Variety description

10 August 2026

The Japana F1 variety is a mid-season daikon hybrid. The period from sowing to harvest is about 80 days. The root crops have a cylindrical shape with smooth white skin and a rounded tip, with their length reaching 35 cm.

The flesh of the root crops is dense, juicy, with a mild sweetish taste without pronounced pungency. The variety is intended for fresh consumption and culinary processing, and possesses good keeping quality during winter storage.

The hybrid is intended exclusively for summer sowing, carried out from July to August. With spring sowing, the variety is prone to rapid bolting. The plant requires loose, deeply cultivated fertile soils and shows resistance to cracking.
