Variety description

10 August 2026

Mino Early is an early-maturing variety, with technical maturity occurring 40–60 days after sowing. The root vegetables have an elongated-cylindrical shape with smooth white skin, reaching 30–50 cm in length with a diameter of about 6 cm.

The flesh of the root vegetables is characterized by a crispy, juicy, and tender texture with a mild, slightly spicy taste. The variety is resistant to premature pithiness, possesses good heat tolerance, medium resistance to bolting, and tolerance to powdery mildew, black rot, and turnip mosaic virus.

This variety is a product of traditional Japanese selection and belongs to the open-pollinated type. It is intended for fresh consumption, culinary processing, and short-term storage, and can also be used as a green manure crop.
