The variety of the Indicum group is a vigorous, wide-growing shrub about 1 meter high and 1.5 meters wide. The plant blooms in early spring with white single flowers with a slight crimp.
As a representative of the Rhododendron simsii group, the variety is grown as a potted houseplant. The flowers of this form are semi-double, and there is no fragrance. The flowering period varies from August to April, and the size of the plants in pot cultivation is usually 30–50 cm.
