The variety «Sima» is a representative of the Rhododendron simsii hybrid group. The plant is classified as an evergreen shrub intended for indoor cultivation in pots.
The flowers of this variety have a double structure and do not possess a distinct aroma. In scientific literature, the variety is used as an object of genetic research for constructing genetic maps and as a reference standard for the registration and comparison of new varieties of Belgian pot azalea.
