The Dlouhohrozen Bily variety belongs to the white currant species. It is a cultivated plant that was historically grown in the Czech Republic and is known by the synonym Blanche à Longues Grappes.

Snake River Gooseberry, known by the Latin name Ribes niveum, is a wild currant species, not an agricultural variety. The shrub, 1.5–3 meters in height with thorny shoots, is distributed in the Snake River region in North America.
