The White Imperial variety is a white currant. The bushes are characterized by a spreading habit and moderate vigor. The variety features good resistance to common diseases and pests of berry crops.

It is specifically noted that in botanical literature White Imperial is not a gooseberry and is not related to the species Ribes niveum (known as Snake River Gooseberry). Confusion of these concepts in catalogs is erroneous.
