Variety description

The variety is a vigorous shrub with an upright or spreading crown shape, reaching a height of 1.5–2.5 m. The decorative appeal of the plant is due to early flowering from March to May with white flowers gathered into drooping racemes.

The fruits are blue-black edible, but bland-tasting berries, ripening in summer. The plant is characterized by drought tolerance after rooting and tolerates pruning well when performed after flowering is completed. The species is susceptible to white pine blister rust.
