The Jaune Rouge variety is considered an ancient French gooseberry, mentioned as early as before 1856. Currently, it is not commercially significant and is found primarily in genetic resource collections.
The plant belongs to thorny types. The berries are small, have a round shape and a characteristic yellow-red color. The variety does not possess disease resistance.
