The Cristian variety is characterized by the variability of morphological traits, including the number of capsules and seeds per plant, depending on agricultural practices, sowing dates, and plant density. In the course of the research, plant height varied from 135 to 168 cm.

The plant is cultivated as an oilseed crop. The oil obtained from the seeds is used in the production of paints and varnishes, lubricants, pharmaceuticals, and perfumery.
