The Negus variety is a dwarf hybrid selected within breeding programs to create compact castor bean forms suitable for mechanized harvesting. This breeding material was actively used in scientific research during the 1990s and early 2000s.

During trials, the variety was compared with other genotypes to evaluate adaptation to growing conditions and productivity. The plant is sensitive to moisture deficit during critical development stages, while no specific data on resistance to diseases or lodging is provided.
