The Riscio variety was selected during breeding work at the Italian center CREA-CI. It is classified as a low-growing hybrid, with a target plant height of about 1 meter, which allows for significantly simplified mechanized harvesting.

The primary goal of developing this variety was to achieve a yield of over 3.0 t/ha and to shorten the duration of the vegetation cycle, which is necessary for the successful ripening of castor beans in the climatic conditions of Italy. The variety is intended exclusively for industrial use as a technical crop.
