The Meibrinpay variety, known by the trade name Abbaye de Cluny, is a vigorous, upright and branched shrub with a height of 80 to 125 cm and a width of about 70 cm. The plant's foliage is dense, dark green, semi-glossy or matte.

The flowers are large, 10–12 cm in diameter, double, with a deep cupped shape. The coloration is complex, in apricot-orange tones with a creamy base. The fragrance is light to medium intensity with spicy and citrus notes.

The variety is repeat-flowering, with blooming continuing from June until frost. It possesses good resistance to black spot and powdery mildew. Winter hardiness corresponds to USDA zones 4–9, capable of withstanding frosts down to -20°C.
