Variety description

10 August 2026

Loganberry is a spreading bush with trailing or arching canes up to 4 m long, which require support. The Thornless Logan variety is its thornless mutation. The berries are elongated, dark red, weighing 8–15 g, and ripen early. Boysenberry is a complex hybrid with trailing canes, producing very large dark cherry or almost black berries weighing 8.5–10 g, ripening at the end of July or in August.

Tayberry is a mid-late hybrid with semi-trailing canes up to 3 m long, yielding elongated-conical purple-raspberry berries weighing 5–8 g. The crop is resistant to a number of fungal diseases. Phenomenal berry is historically associated with early attempts at breeding loganberries in the USA, however, detailed agronomic characteristics of this plant are insufficiently presented in modern materials.
