Schavnat represents a group of interspecific hybrids obtained by crossing Rumex tianschanicus and Rumex patientia. The Rumex OK-2 variety was bred as a high-yielding fodder crop.

Plants of this group are distinguished by intensive growth, reaching a height of up to 3 meters in the second year of life. The green mass contains protein, sugars, pectin, as well as vitamins C and E. Specific data on the maturity group or resistance level of the particular OK-2 variety are not detailed in the publications.
