Saintpaulia "Maria" from the Optimara series is a standard variety for mass production with white flowers and medium-green foliage, adapted to indoor conditions. There are references to earlier varieties from the Rhapsodie series with the same name, which have dark violet-blue flowers and a distinct foliage shape.
Saintpaulia "Мария" bred by T. Dadoyan is a fixed sport from the variety "Фея". The plant is characterized by large, highly double, bright pink flowers with a crimson dusting and a dense green border along the edge of the petals. The foliage is bright green, wavy, and flower coloration may vary depending on growing conditions.
