The clone is classified as a hybrid of Salix matsudana Koidz. x Salix alba L. In some publications, its origin is described as a complex hybrid, including various forms of Chinese and white willow.
The plant is intended for cultivation in short-rotation energy crops for biomass production. During trials, the average biomass yield ranged from 12.4 to 19.8 t/ha. To achieve high productivity after cutting the shoots, it is recommended to leave no more than 1–2 shoots per root.
