Variety description

The variety is an upright large shrub with narrow lanceolate leaves. Foliage color changes from bright yellow upon unfolding to golden-yellow in summer and yellow-green by autumn. The plant blooms in early spring with white or pale yellow catkins before leaves appear.
The plant reaches 3–4 meters in height and about 3 meters in width. The variety has high winter hardiness down to –25...–27 °C and prefers fresh, moist soils, tolerating short-term flooding well. The shrub is responsive to sunny locations and tolerates pruning well, which allows for forming a compact crown.
The variety is used in ornamental gardening as a solitaire, in group plantings, and for creating hedges. Regarding pests and diseases, it is susceptible to infections typical for the Salix genus, including aphids, leaf beetles, sawflies, rust, and anthracnose.
