Variety description

The plant forms a bush 90–120 cm high and 60–90 cm wide. The flowers are tubular, sapphire-colored, and contrast with the dark stems and calyces. The deep dark green leaves have a characteristic anise scent.
Flowering begins early and continues until the first frost; the plant is capable of profuse repeat blooming. The variety shows good heat tolerance, and after establishment, drought tolerance. Depending on the region, it is grown as a perennial in USDA zones 7–10 or as an annual crop.
The variety prefers full sun or partial shade, as well as moderately moist, well-drained soils. Used in mass plantings, borders, containers, and for attracting pollinators. Light pruning in mid-to-late summer is recommended to stimulate fresh growth.
