The «Carolien» variety is distinguished by variegated leaves, which have broad cream-yellow spots on a dark green background. In indoor conditions, the plant most often takes the form of a small tree with upright stems, reaching a height of about 1.5 meters.

The plant is used exclusively for decorative purposes to furnish apartments and offices. The variety is valued for its stable coloration and ability to tolerate pruning well for crown shaping. It is considered relatively low-maintenance, however it requires sufficient lighting to maintain the brightness of the variegation.
