The variety forms compact plants about 17 cm in height and about 19 cm in width. The stems (phylloclades) are large, having two to three teeth on each side toward the apex.
The flowers have a pink or purple-pink color with a lighter center and recurved lower petals. The pistil is violet-red, and the stamens are white. The variety is intended for cultivation as an ornamental potted plant or in hanging baskets; flowering is stimulated by short daylight and cool nights.
