The classic Champion variety is an indeterminate tall plant with fleshy, sweet-tasting fruits and a low seed count. The Champion II and Champion III hybrids are improved forms with increased resistance to diseases, including nematodes and viruses, with a fruit weight of 170–225 g.

There are specialized forms, such as the historical determinate Dwarf Champion variety with a height of 90–120 cm and reddish-purple fruits, and the Шоколадный чемпион variety from the «Гном» series. There is also the domestic Розовый чемпион variety, which is an indeterminate large-fruited plant with a height of 150–180 cm.

Most varieties of these tomatoes are salad types intended for fresh consumption, making sauces, or culinary use.
