The Condine Red variety is a relatively small plant with a medium-early maturity group. The fruits have a round shape, red color, firm flesh with a small amount of juice, and 3–5 seed chambers; their average weight is about 40 grams.
The plant is used as a subject for studying photomorphogenesis, responses to stress factors, and breeding work. The presence of a specific mutation allows the variety to be used as a genetic marker for seedlings when controlling cross-pollination.
