The variety is an heirloom and represents a local agrotype of Southern Italy. The plant is indeterminate, vigorous, reaches a height of 1.8–2 meters, and requires mandatory staking and pruning. The maturity period ranges from 70 to 115 days.
The fruits are oval or plum-shaped, weighing 15–30 grams, and are bright red in color. The pulp features a balanced taste and a high content of soluble solids, vitamin C, and antioxidants. The fruits are versatile in use: they are suitable for fresh consumption, sauces, and whole-fruit canning.
The plant possesses drought tolerance and moderate disease resistance. Due to their delicate skin, the fruits are prone to cracking with excessive watering.
