The De Ramellet group includes both determinate and indeterminate plants with a height of 1.2 to 1.5 m. The fruits have a weight of 30–150 g, a round, flattened, or elongated shape, and a color ranging from red to orange. They are characterized by firm flesh, thick skin, and low juice content; the taste is intense with pronounced acidity.
The varieties are mid-season and feature high drought tolerance. The primary purpose is long-term storage: fruits harvested at the turning stage are tied into garlands and hung in dry rooms, where they remain fresh for up to six months. In cooking, they are traditionally used for rubbing onto bread and for preparing sauces.
