The variety is the result of folk breeding and has been preserved by local residents for many generations. It is classified as a variety intended for cultivation under special conditions and is not an industrial hybrid.

The fruits have pronounced ribbing and lobing, for which the variety is often called Fóti gerezdes. They possess a juicy, sweetish taste and are versatile in use: they are suitable for fresh consumption, culinary processing, and canning.
