The rootstock is used to improve scion characteristics, providing tolerance to nematodes and a number of soil-borne diseases. It is not intended for cultivation for fruit production, as the latter will correspond to the varietal characteristics of the scion.

The plant is characterized as a less vigorous rootstock compared to a number of analogs, which allows for controlling growth rates and reducing the risk of fruit cracking in the scion.
