The hybrid Jeirex (breeding number UG 5202) is a mid-season industrial variety used for the production of tomato paste, concentrates, and crushed tomatoes. The fruits are characterized by intense color, high dry matter content, firm consistency, and resistance to over-ripening and sunburn.
The plant possesses complex resistance to pathogens, including Verticillium wilt (Verticillium dahliae, V. albo-atrum), Fusarium wilt (Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. lycopersici, races 0, 1), Tomato spotted wilt virus (TSWV), nematodes (Meloidogyne spp.), and Alternaria stem canker (Alternaria alternata).
