The variety is used as a reference in technical questionnaires and test guidelines of the Community Plant Variety Office for describing morphological characteristics, in particular when evaluating the presence or absence of a green shoulder at the peduncle.

In research work, the variety is used as an object for evaluating resistance to pathogens, including agents of late blight and bacterial wilt. The results of the resistance evaluation depend on the specific pathogen strain and the research methodology.
