The variety was bred at the Center for Vegetable Crops (Centar za povrtarstvo) in the territory of the former Yugoslavia.

In scientific literature, the variety has been repeatedly used as an object for comparative agronomic studies, in particular when examining the influence of various types of fertilizers, such as compost, on fruit quality, metabolite accumulation, and nutrient concentration. The variety has also featured in works analyzing the fatty acid composition of tomato fruits.
