The variety is an Italian heirloom known since the beginning of the 20th century. The plant is vigorous, tall, reaching a height of 1.6 to 2.1 m in greenhouses, in some cases up to 3.5 m. Sources contain conflicting data on the growth type, which is classified as indeterminate or determinate.

The maturity period varies from early to mid-season (about 70–75 days or 105 days after emergence), and it appears as late-season in a number of descriptions. The fruits are oval or plum-shaped, often with a characteristic 'nose', weighing from 20 to 80 g. They are distinguished by firm flesh, a small number of seeds, and high fruit set during temperature fluctuations.

The variety is resistant to the main diseases of the crop and fruit cracking. It requires mandatory staking and pruning, as it is capable of forming a large number of ovaries, up to 500 fruits on one plant.
