The fruits are pear-shaped, sometimes with pronounced ribbing, and reach a weight of 300–600 g. The pulp is distinguished by its meatiness and low seed content; the color of ripe fruits is deep red.

The plant is tall, reaching 2 meters in height, and requires staking. The tomatoes are characterized by a sweet taste, low acidity, and are traditionally used for making passata, sauces, or for fresh consumption.
