Sharmita is an indeterminate plant with a generative tendency and a compact structure. The fruits are round in shape, red and glossy, characterized by high density and resistance to cracking. The content of sugars and acids ensures high taste qualities, which allows the variety to be classified as a snack tomato.

The plant is intended for professional use in glass greenhouses, including use under supplemental lighting and in extended rotations. The fruits are suitable for harvesting as individual berries or in whole trusses, to which they firmly adhere. Intermediate resistance to powdery mildew is declared.

In official documentation, the variety is classified as a cherry tomato with selection number DRTC8524. Information regarding a determinate growth type and fruit weight of 100–150 g is erroneous and contradicts the originator's data.
