The Shetland variety is an indeterminate tomato hybrid with a late fruit maturity group. Morphologically, the fruits belong to the small beef round type with a low length-to-diameter ratio. Characteristic features include the presence of ribbing at the peduncle zone and 3–4 seed locules.

The plant is intended for cultivation in heated greenhouses on a global scale. The hybrid has gained recognition through research into the development of tomato varieties possessing high resistance to Tomato brown rugose fruit virus (ToBRFV).
