The variety was developed within the framework of a scientific program at the University of Tuscia. The genetics are based on lines carrying a combination of Aft and atv genes, which ensure the accumulation of anthocyanins in the fruit skin under the influence of sunlight.

The fruits have a round shape, red flesh, and black or dark purple skin. The variety is intended for fresh consumption and processing, positioned as a product with high nutraceutical value.
