The Vegas variety (designated as FMX 70) is a determinate hybrid with a medium-sized bush and "curly" foliage. It belongs to the early-maturing category.

The fruits are uniform, smooth, and thick-walled; they are green when immature and turn bright red upon ripening. The plant is "jointless," which facilitates the harvesting process.

The hybrid possesses resistance to Verticillium wilt (race 1), Fusarium wilt (races 1 and 2), Stemphylium leaf spot, and Alternaria stem canker.
