The Zaira F1 hybrid is a mid-early indeterminate plant. Its fruits have an oval shape, a bright orange color, and reach a weight of 120–140 g. The hybrid possesses resistance to a number of diseases, including verticillium wilt, fusarium wilt (race 2), nematodes, tomato mosaic virus, and tomato yellow leaf curl virus.
In amateur collections and databases, there are mentions of a "Zaira" variety as a plant with pink fruits; however, these data are informal in nature and may refer to various folk selections erroneously grouped under a single name.
