The hybrid belongs to the group of sorghum-sudangrass hybrids obtained as a result of crossing Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench and Sorghum sudanense (Piper) Stapf. It is used more often as a forage crop rather than as a pure grain sorghum.

In official plant testing protocols, the variety is used as a morphological standard. As an example, the characteristic of the leaf midrib color is cited, which is described as yellowish-white.
