The Kalatur hybrid belongs to the white pearl grain plant type and has a dual purpose, allowing it to be used both for grain production and silage harvesting. The plant is distinguished by high biomass, good field emergence of seeds, and drought tolerance, which allows it to be successfully grown in moderately continental climate conditions.

Biochemical studies show that the grain of this hybrid contains a high level of fructose and also possesses a specific profile of phenolic compounds and antioxidant activity. In scientific experiments, the variety is used as a model for studying plant interactions with the microbiome, and agromorphological observations note its relatively short leaf length.
