The MR Eclipse hybrid is classified as a mid-maturing variety with medium plant height. It has been tested under the Sorghum Midge Tested Scheme and possesses resistance to sorghum midge with a rating of 6 on a seven-point scale.

The plant is intended for the production of grain used in livestock farming and for export needs, and is also considered as potential raw material for the processing industry, including biofuel production. It is suitable for cultivation under irrigated farming conditions, although agronomic research notes the possibility of sensitivity to nematodes of the species Pratylenchus neglectus.
