The variety is used as an object for scientific research on bioethanol production and for studying plant tolerance to soil salinity. The plant exhibits sensitivity to high NaCl content, under which seeds do not germinate.

Under experimental conditions, the vegetation period until reaching the physiological maturity phase is 107 to 120 days. Maximum indicators of stem biomass and sucrose content in the stems are reached precisely by the phase of physiological maturity.
