The variety belongs to the sorghum crop group, specifically sorghum-rice (Sorghum orysoidum). The grain is distinguished by a protein content of 13.9–14.2 percent.

The variety is suitable for use as food raw material, as well as for processing into starch and the production of bioethanol. It was used in scientific research as an object for the study of bacterial spot.
