The variety possesses a compact, narrow pyramidal form with dense branching and a vertical growth habit, reaching a height of 10–12 meters. The leaves are dark green, glossy, larger than those of the species plants, and turn yellow or orange-yellow shades in the autumn period.
Flowering is abundant and prolonged, occurring in June. The flowers are white, bell-shaped, drooping, and possess a sweet aroma. The plant is considered a honey plant that attracts insects.
The variety is characterized as disease-resistant and winter-hardy, withstanding temperature drops down to -22 °C (hardiness zone 6). Wind resistance is rated as medium. The plant is sensitive to soil compaction and prefers sunny or semi-shaded locations with moist, well-drained, lime-free soils.
