Olympic Gold is a compact trailing plant with a height of 7 to 30 cm. The main feature of the variety is the variegated foliage of a yellow-green shade. The flowers are small, white, and the flowering period lasts from spring to autumn.

The plant is a tender perennial; in cold climates, it is cultivated as an annual. The variety is demanding regarding soil moisture and, due to the variegated leaf color, develops better in partial shade conditions. It is used as a groundcover crop and for decorating hanging baskets.
